Why You Will Love Beet Strawberry Smoothie:
- It is healthy.
- Easy to make.
- Perfect as a Breakfast Replacement
- Gluten-free and refined sugar-free!
- Gorgeous and colorful
- Filling and satisfying.
- It has a unique sweet and earthy taste!
Beet Strawberry Smoothie Ingredients:
Fortunately, this this immune-boosting red beet strawberry smoothie requires only 5 ingredients that are readily available.
- Fresh Beetroot is a must have for this smoothie, I always love using raw beetroot. You are welcome to use the frozen beets if your blender can blend it, lol. However, I prefer fresh red beets for this recipe. Beets are full of vitamins, mineral and have a tiny amount of fat. Beets are known to lower blood pressure as well improve your stamina among many things.
- Strawberry: I love adding strawberry to this recipe because of its nutritional value and color. I feel that strawberry blends well with the earthiness of beets. Also, strawberry is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and other minerals.
- Yogurt: The richness and creaminess of yogurt in this smoothie is phenomenal. Mainly I prefer to use low-fat yogurt. Yogurt provides high-quality protein to the body. It is an excellent source of calcium, vitamins, some carbohydrate and lots of water.
- Banana: In general banana is very filling, and it has a good amount of carbohydrate, some vitamins, and minerals. Some benefits of banana include energy boosting; it can also improve your digestive system. Banana is very affordable yet very nutritious.
- Orange juice: You can squeeze your orange or you can use a store bought juice for this recipe; both works just fine. Orange contains vitamin c plus other minerals. Orange can protect your body by boosting your immunity.
How to Make Healthy Beet Strawberry Smoothie Recipe (Step-by-step):
Here is the easy peasy way to make our favorite beet strawberry smoothie. Hope you enjoy!
- Prep the vegetables and fruits.
First, wash, and cut the strawberries, then freeze them. Do the same for the bananas. Note that strawberries and bananas are better if frozen (in this recipe). You can do this several days ahead. On the other hand, you can also use them fresh (without freezing)!
- Gather the ingredients.
Gather the ingredients on the day you wish to make beet strawberry smoothie. First, wash, peel and cut the beet (beetroot) into smaller chunks to fit your blender. Measure the yogurt and orange juice! Then get the frozen strawberry and bananas.
- Add all the ingredients into the blender.
When adding the ingredients into the blender, start with the liquid first. (Check my video)!
- Blend.
Blend the ingredients (in the blender) until smooth and creamy. Your beet strawberry smoothie is then ready to enjoy!
- Serve.
Serve the smoothie in a cup or jar. Slide in a straw if need be; enjoy! This smoothie is best if enjoyed immediately.
RECIPES NOTES/TIPS:
- Best enjoyed immediately; do not save for later.
- This recipe serves two adults. It can serve 3 – 4 children.
- Use beet strawberry smoothie to replace a breakfast!
- Not a fan of strawberries? Use blueberries instead.
- To get the best out of this smoothie, use frozen strawberries and bananas. Though fresh would work, I do not recommend it. Also, I typically buy fresh strawberries and bananas and freeze them.
How to Store Beet Strawberry Smoothie:
I do not recommend storing any leftovers of this smoothie. They are better enjoyed fresh! I suggest that you make the quantity you can finish.
On the other, you pour any leftovers (immediately) into popsicle containers and freeze asap. This recipe makes a healthy popsicle for kids and adults, especially during the hot summer!
