What is Marry Me Chicken?

Simply put, Marry Me Chicken is delightfully magnificent, literally one of the best chicken recipes you will ever eat! It is a delicious, flavorful, finger-licking chicken dish that’s said to be so good that it can make someone pop the question after enjoying it! My husband said that he would have proposed if we hadn’t already been married after he devoured this recipe!🤣😋😁

Ideally, to make Marry Me Chicken, you sear chicken breasts to golden brown. Then, you simmer them in a creamy sauce made with heavy cream, parmesan cheese, garlic, “sun-dried tomatoes” (though I used fresh tomatoes), and fresh herbs. You will then serve this luxurious chicken dish with any side of your choosing.

We make many chicken recipes here, such as my famous air-fried chicken thighs, chicken zucchini stir fry, jerk chicken, hot honey wings, and chicken coconut soup. However, the Marry Me Chicken recipe takes the cake! It’s simply easy, delicious, and luxurious. Everyone on my Youtube Channel loved this recipe when I first made it! In case you are wondering, this recipe got its name from its ability to win over anyone who eats it.

What Do You Serve With Marry Me Chicken?

Marry Me Chicken is versatile and can go with any side dish. While you can enjoy it on its own, make it more filling by serving it with any side of your choice as it complements its flavors. Here are some sides I will recommend:

A simple vegan mashed sweet potatoes recipe with rosemary, coconut milk, and coconut cream is tasty, creamy, fragrant, and sweet. Making a perfect side dish for any main. Vegan mashed potatoes is ideal for every family member during family dinners or special occasions. Made without any dairy, they still come out dreamy, creamy, and full of that sweet and savory flavor that will make you overindulge!

Marry Me Chicken is versatile and can go with any side dish. While you can enjoy it on its own, make it more filling by serving it with any side of your choice as it complements its flavors. Here are some sides I will recommend:
Quinoa is an ideal substitute for rice and is even easier to cook and healthier than rice! This healthy, easy to make quinoa fried rice is a perfect, easily vegan side dish everyone will enjoy. To make this healthy fried rice with raw quinoa, mixed vegetables, Olive oil, broth, salt, and pepper. Quinoa fried rice is great for weekday/weekend lunch or dinner and also excellent for any occasion, such as holidays, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, or Sunday dinner.
This easy air fryer roasted broccoli with balsamic vinegar is crunchy, tender, tasty, a little tangy, sweet, and will make a great side dish to any main dish. The addition of balsamic vinegar gives this air fried broccoli a unique taste that takes it from boring to banging. Also, to counter the tanginess of the vinegar, I added a little sweetness.
Step five: Bake the dough for 20 minutes at 300 degrees and check for doneness with a toothpick insert. I typically do not turn the bread halfway; the score helps it perfectly bake without the need for flipping. After baking, allow cooling before serving and easily break this bread apart by the "farts," or score.

Ultimately, choosing a side dish depends on your taste and what you think would be a good match for the Chicken.

Tips for making the best Marry Me Chicken:

  1. Use good quality chicken breasts. Choose organic, free-range chicken if possible.
  2. You can pound the chicken breasts. This will help them stay even and cook quicker.
  3. Ensure to use an accommodating pan. Let me explain: It’s important to use a pan or pot that can hold all the meat.
  4. Make sure to overcook the chicken. If you are unsure when your chicken is ready, use a food thermometer. Insert it into the thickest part of the chicken breast, and if it reads 165°F (74°C), your Chicken is ready.
  5. Use fresh garlic; storebought minced garlic will not cut it. I personally like keeping the spices/herbs a bit minimal for this recipe because I want the luxurious flavors of the heavy cream, parmesan, and garlic to shine with the chicken.
  6. Serve warm with a simple side dish, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a green salad.
  7. Don’t have sun-dried tomatoes or don’t like them? Don’t stress. I always use fresh tomatoes, and they always come out so good!

How to Store Leftover

If you do have leftover Marry Me Chicken, you can store it in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can also freeze it by packing it in an individual freezer-friendly container.

Ensure the Chicken cools completely before storing it in the refrigerator or freezer. To reheat your Chicken, use the microwave or the oven, and 1-2 minutes should do it for you, depending on the quantity. For the frozen chicken, first, use the “defrost” button on your microwave when reheating. Enjoy!
