Ingredients for Air Fryer Jerk Chicken Quarters Recipe:
Chicken Quarters.
You will need chicken quarters to make this recipe (well, obviously, LOL). However, you can use any other part of the meat that you have on hand.
Jerk seasoning.
I like using Walkerswood jerk seasoning for all my jerk cooking (this isn’t a promotion). I have, in fact, tried other brands, and I always come back to Walkerswood. On the other hand, you can always make your own jerk seasoning. To save time, I prefer Walkerwood. Another thing to note is that jerk seasoning is very spicy. This may not be the recipe for you if you do not like spicy food! Personally, I prefer the mild jerk seasoning. If you can handle the heat, go with the hot jerk seasoning!
Olive oil.
I like using olive oil, however, avocado oil works equally well. You will only need a small amount of oil to marinate the meat!
Maggi/Knorr Bouillon:
Maggi and/or Knorr Bouillon enhances flavors. I love how it perfects the taste of these jerk chicken quarters. Also, please note that Maggi or Knorr has sodium. Be mindful of how much salt you will add, as this and the jerk seasoning contain salt.
Salt (optional)
If needed. I suggest adding 1/4 teaspoon salt or a little more because Jerk seasoning and Knorr/Maggi contain sodium). However, if you use non-sodium jerk seasoning, add enough salt.
And if you are wondering whether or not you can add other spices and herbs like onion and garlic powder to the recipe, you can. You may also add dry thyme, oregano, etc. I prefer to keep things simple whenever I make jerk chicken. This is because the jerk seasoning already has so many flavors!
