How to Make Creamy Salmon in Coconut Lime Garlic Sauce (Step-by-Step):
Here’s how to make this super simple and delicious creamy salmon in coconut lime garlic sauce. This will blow your mind!
- Gather all your ingredients:
This recipe goes by quickly, so I highly suggest you gather all your ingredients before starting.
- Prep Your Vegetables:
Clean and grate the garlic and set aside. Zest the lime, set the zest aside to use later. Then slice or cut the spring onions (if using it).
- Prep the Salmon:
If using frozen salmon, allow it to thaw in the refrigerator. Then, when ready to use, wash and dry with a paper towel. Place salmon on a clean surface like a chopping board. Season your salmon with a generous amount of salt and black pepper, and slap your mama and Knorr. Rub the seasonings into your salmon, ensuring they are well seasoned on all sides.
- Pan-fry Salmon:
Place a clean pan on a hot stove and add coconut oil. Then, cook for 5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. Remove and set aside for the next step. If your pan cannot contain all the fish at a go, cook them in batches. (Alternatively, you could equally air fry or bake these instead of pan fry).
- Make the Creamy Coconut Lime Sauce:
In the same pan, add a small amount of coconut oil if needed. Ignore if you have enough oil. Ensure that the stove is on medium—low, then add the grated or minced garlic. Cook until translucent (do not allow it to burn), and add the coconut milk. Then, season with salt, pepper, cayenne (if needed) and Knorr. Stir to combine; add half of the lime zest and squeeze in fresh lime juice. Stir, taste, and adjust flavors as needed. Then add the salmon, cover it, and allow it to simmer. Ensure all the salmon are soaked up in the lovely coconut lime garlic sauce! Serve with any side, including rice and vegetables. Don’t forget to garnish. Enjoy!

- Make sure to simmer the sauce a little to thicken it to the consistency you want.
- When you add the salmon to back to the sauce, make sure to also add the drippings. They all go together, LOL.
- Instead of pan-frying the salmon prior to adding to the sauce, you can actually bake or air-fry them. You do you!
Keto Coconut Lime Salmon FAQs:
You can use lemon as a substitute for lime for salmon.
You can use vinegar if you don’t want to use lime or lemon. Apple cider vinegar or regular can both work as a non-citrus substitute.
There are many ingredients that can help your salmon taste better, such as cajun and creole seasoning. Lime or lemon is particularly excellent for making fish.
I personally don’t necessarily brine my salmon before cooking, but You can certainly brine it. I think brining salmon will also help to intensify the flavors.
