Ingredients for Yogurt Bowl:
Fortunately, the ingredients for any yogurt bowl are easy. The essential thing you need for this recipe is yogurt, and I typically go with Greek yogurt. Also, I like using vanilla-flavored yogurt; this way, I do not need to sweeten the yogurt because it is already sweetened. The rest of the other things are pretty much optional! Be it the fruits (fresh or dry), granola, nuts, or nut butter!
However, here are the ingredients for today’s toppings. For the tropical yogurt bowl recipe, the toppings include mango, pineapple, papaya, coconut flakes, and walnuts. The toppings for the cherry-blueberry bowl include fresh cherries, fresh blueberries, and toasted coconut flakes. Finally, the toppings for the strawberry yogurt recipe include fresh strawberries, homemade granola, and nut butter.
HOW TO MAKE YOGURT BOWLS + VARIATIONS.
Making a yogurt bowl for breakfast or snack is super easy. Add some yogurt to a bowl and add some fruits, nuts, or any other toppings. Nevertheless, here’s how I usually make yogurt bowls.
Tropical Yogurt Bowl
My tasty tropical bowl is by far my favorite. One thing you may not know about me is that I was born and raised in Nigeria and so I am a sucker for all things tropical especially fruits; perhaps that’s why this very recipe melts my heart. However, I want to assure you that this bowl will tastefully, or rather, technically change your life. This bowl comprises of yogurt (base), mango, pineapple, papaya, coconut flakes, and a few nuts (optional)! If you love this bowl then you will adore my tropical smoothie. Here’s how I make this yogurt bowl: ⤵️
- Wash, and cut the fruits (mango, pineapple, papaya), set aside.
- Add 1 cup of yogurt to a clean bowl
- Layer with mango, pineapple cubes, papaya side by side. Sprinkle coconut flakes, and add a few nuts or nut butter! Enjoy!
Cherry – Blueberry Bowl
Just like the other bowls the base of this one is Greek yogurt, with that comes blueberries. Which is generally known as a superfood, and often referred as the king of antioxidant. Then I added some fresh cherries as well. I toasted about 2 tablespoons of coconut flakes for some needed crunch. Blueberries can boost brain health, promote heart health, and reduce inflammation. On the other hand, cherries are packed with anti-inflammatory properties and are rich in anti-oxidants. Cherries are heart-healthy and can help lessen arthritis problems.
- Wash, and cut the cherries in half to remove the seed. Make sure to wash the blueberry as well, and dry off excess moisture from both fruits. Set aside as well.
- Add 1 cup of yogurt to a clean bowl, and add ¼ cup of blueberry plus ¼ cup of cherries as well. Surround your bowl with the toasted coconut flakes. Fortunately, this flavor turned out so well; currently my favorite on-the-go breakfast! Add granola and nut butter if so desired.
Strawberry Bowl
Strawberries are low in calorie count and are enriched with vitamins and minerals. Health benefits include prevention of certain cancers, blood sugar regulation and good for heart health. This yogurt bowl radiates in the bright red color of strawberry sweetness, and tastes so good. The color and flavor of strawberry, orange, granola make this bowl spectacular and tasty.
You definitely need the crunchiness from toasted granola. In reality, this strawberry yogurt bowl is hands down my favorite! Make sure to check out this strawberry peach smoothie!
- Wash, and cut strawberries, make sure to use only fresh for this. About ½ cup of fresh strawberries or as much as you need. Peel and segment the clementine!
- Add 1 cup of yogurt to a clean bowl
- Layer with strawberries and top with granola, oranges, nut butter or any other things you want.

With love,
Good idea. Something that could be prepared the night before, too?
Isn’t it Gillian! This is a perfect for busy people. And yes, you can also make them the night before. However, I prefer overnight oats for most of my make ahead breakfasts. This is because I use dry fruits; and they can last up to 7 days.
The yoghurt mornings have been my go to if i want to save time and skip breakfast cereals. I keep it super simple: yoghurt and banana or yoghurt and mango or yoghurt and strawberries.
Good for you!
