HOW TO AIR FRY PEARS (STEP-BY-STEP):

Step one: prep the pear. Wash the pear(s) and dry with paper towels. Cut the pear in half, and gently use a spoon or melon baller to remove the core. Brush or rub melted butter on all the cut sides. Sprinkle a dash of salt. Then mix the coconut sugar and ground cinnamon; generously spread on the cut side of the pear. Ensure every cut side is covered with cinnamon and sugar mix. See photo.

Step two: air fry pears. Set the air fryer to 375 and preheat. Then place pears cut side up in the air fryer basket and the air fryer for 15 minutes without turning until fork tender. If you want the baked pears to be crunchy, then do not bake them for up to 15 minutes.

Step three: allow cooling before serving. Air fryer pear is hot and can easily bun after cooking. Allow cooling for at least 2-3 minutes before serving or touching. As always, handle all hot food with care.

Bottom line, baking pear in an air fryer is easier done than said. Simply cut pears into half, sprinkle some melted butter and cinnamon coconut sugar, and bake in an air fryer.

WHAT TO USE AIR FRYER PEARS FOR?

Air fryer pears will make a perfect weeknight dessert. Equally, they make an excellent dessert for those busy weekend nights that you have no time to bake proper desserts (like pies or rolls). At the same time, you can totally enjoy air fryer pear as a nutritious breakfast with yogurt and granola topping!

Air fryer pear would make a great holiday dessert for several reasons. First, it is easy to make and wouldn’t add to your kitchen workload. Second, it will considerably reduce calorie consumption during the holidays! Third, it is a healthy alternative to most desserts, and honestly, you won’t miss your regular dessert!

To serve air fryer pear, simply add a scoop of Greek yogurt (to keep it healthier) or vanilla ice cream. I had mine with yogurt, but my children love the ice cream option. On the other hand, you can sprinkle some honey on them and savor! Finally, crush/sprinkle your favorite granola on top; I used grain-free granola. Obviously, you can use any granola or nuts of your choice.

RECIPE NOTES/TIPS:

  • Add nutmeg for more flavors.
  • If you don’t have coconut sugar, use brown sugar!
  • I don’t see the need to turn/flip the pears while cooking in the air fryer.
  • Use any topping of choice.
  • I like really caramelized and soft baked pears; if you want crunchy pears, I suggest reducing the temperature and time. Also, keep your eyes on them and remove them if they reach your level of doneness.
  • Air fried pears are better served warm.
  • I do not recommend storing the leftover in the freezer.
  • This recipe serves two people (double for more people)!
  • You can skip the yogurt for some whipped cream or ice cream!

FAQs

Which Is the Best Pear for Cooking?

I used Bosc pear for this recipe because they can hold together even after intense cooking. However, bartlett pears and other types of pears would work just fine! Also, use ripe pears but not too ripe that they can’t hold up after baking.

Can you bake air fryer pear in the oven?

Yes, you can easily bake fresh pears in the oven. Follow the same instruction and bake at 375 for 25 – 30 minutes. Use a fork to test tenderness.

What can I use air fryer pears for?

Air fryer grilled pears are versatile. They make excellent nutrition breakfast with yogurt and granola topping. Also, this recipe doubles as a healthy dessert or snack!

Can I freeze air fryer pears?

I do not recommend freezing air fryer-baked pears. I suggest keeping the leftover in the refrigerator for 2 – 3 days.

How to cut pear?

Easily use a paring knife to slice the pear in half or lengthwise. Then use a spoon or melon baller to remove the core.

Can I also use other fruits instead of pears?

Yes, you can easily use this same method and air fry apples or peaches. Let me know what you end up doing.

What air fryer do you use?

I use Instant Vortex Plus; I love it; one of my best decisions! It has several uses such as air fry, bake, broil, dehydrate, etc.

STORAGE AND REHEATING:

Amazingly, you can store the leftover of these air fryer pears in the fridge for 2 – 3 days. Relatively, ensure to store them without the toppings.

I do not recommend freezing the air fryer pear leftovers. Usually, there may not be a need as they are typically gone on the same day.
