Description

Ingredients

Pomegranate

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry your pomegranate with a paper towel.
  2. To cut the pomegranate, first, make a circle around the crown and gently cut it off, exposing the seeds.
  3. Then vertically from the top (crown) to the bottom, make four – six vertical lines on the veins. Do no cut deep into the skin when creating these lines; closely follow the vein lines and cut only the skin. Avoid cutting into the seeds, if not the juice will burst.
  4. Using your hands, pull the arils (seeds) away from the thick white membrane; this little force helps the pomegranate seeds release and then fall out. I love doing this, it is so soothing. Make sure to have a plate/bowl to contain and prevent it from falling everywhere.
  5. Add all the seeds to a bowl of water; the remaining white membrane will float, remove them, Then rinse the pomegranate seeds, and add to a clean plate.
  6. Store in the fridge for a couple of days; freeze if you wish to store pomegranate seeds for longer. (Make sure to check the video below to see how easy it is to cut/open a pomegranate).
