The ingredients for making fruit infused water at home include water, fruits, and herbs. To make this naturally flavored water recipe for clear skin, I used strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, cucumbers, kiwi, oranges, lemon, and lime. The herbs include fresh Rosemary, Thyme, and mint. Basil is equally another great herb to use.

Herbs that Promote Healthy Skin.

The herbs I typically put in water to make these fruit infused water recipes include mint, Rosemary, thyme, and sometimes basil. Just like the fruits, use the herbs you already know, use, and love. Depending on how I am feeling, I may also add two different herbs in a water bottle. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Benefits of Herbs in Infused Water Recipes:

Herbs are medicinal, flavorful, and health-improving; I highly recommend that you add them to your homemade infused water recipes. Here are some benefits of herbs you may like to know:

Rosemary:

It will be worth knowing that Rosemary has tons of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory powers. Not just that, Rosemary can improve memory, otherwise known as a cognitive stimulant. This herb is also known to fight bacterial infections, particularly staph. Rosemary is also linked to hair growth, slow graying, dandruff treatment and help protect the skin against free radicals and sun damage.

Thyme:

Thyme is a powerful immunity booster; count on this herb for helping you fight the common cold and cough! Relatively, thyme is an excellent mood-booster. What’s better than a good feeling that comes from drinking a bottle of water infused with fruits and thyme? NOTHING!

Mint:

Mint improves mood; I love drinking mint tea in the evenings. The properties in mint promote brain function. Usually, breastfeeding mothers are encouraged to apply peppermint gel to the cracked/sore nipples. This would reduce pain in most cases works better than lanolin. I am sure you would have noticed that most cold and flu medicines in your local pharmacy store might have menthol, commonly found in peppermint oil.

How to make the Best Infused Water Recipes for Clear Skin

You do not need a magic wand to make fruit infused water; you can literally make fruit waters with your eyes closed. Having said that, here are the two ways I typically make my fruit infused water recipes at home.

  1. Add fruits to a clean jar, add the herb, and then fill it up with water. Alternatively, you can add water to your clean jar(s) first, and then throw in the fruits and herbs!
  2. Toss fruits into a jar(s), smash them with a wooden spoon, add some herbs, and then pour water. This method helps the fruits to easily and quickly release the flavors. Personally, I love the latter!

As you can see, making fruit-infused waters is very simple and requires no effort, and yet, it has several benefits!

TIPS FOR THE BEST HOMEMADE INFUSED WATER RECIPES:

  1. Make it overnight: always necessary to allow the fruits to release their flavors! So making your homemade fruit water overnight gives it ample time to flavor the water!

  5. Play with flavors; blackberries are equally another berry to try. Mango is another excellent fruit for clear skin you add to your infused water.
  6. Smash the fruits to release flavors: I always smash my fruits; I rarely would leave them whole.
  7. Freeze fruits and add them to your infused water recipes instead of ice. You can freeze some fruits ahead of time, then add them to your water instead of ice.
  8. Shake the jar or bottle before drinking! This instantly helps the fruits to release more flavors.
