Hello, I’m Kechi!
Welcome to my home aka blog. I am a 2x International Best Selling Author of Elevate Your Life with the Power of Positive Perception and Gratefully Growing. African Food Enthusiast, recovering watermelon connoisseur, on my way to finessing my fitness. During my 2017 birthday (July 25th), I decided to take my health seriously, and I embarked on what I call “my healthy journey,” since then I work out at least five times a week, eat right (well, almost all the time) and love life. I recently graduated with a Masters degree in public health, and that reiterated the importance of healthy lifestyle. Naturally, I love cooking, sometimes on a daily basis, and Nigerian recipes are my most delightful dishes to make for my family and me. I hope to share this experience with you, here. Been able to cook Nigerian food for my family here in American is essential to me because I want my kids to see, know and eat the kind of food that I ate growing up.
This blog is all about loving food and living life.
I am excited that you are here. Everything I would share here, in this space would be in the hope that it inspires you to see your worth so you could use your wings.
It all started in Nigeria
I was born and raised in Nigeria, West Africa. Growing up in Africa I enjoyed a variety of food and delicacies. How can I forget Jollof rice, yam porridge, coconut rice, pepper soup, okra soup, vegetable soup or egusi soup and fufu/eba, etc., to mention only but a few. I was blessed to eat all kinds of heart-healthy food, and I would love to introduce them to you. My kids and many other kids like my children may not have that opportunity, but I am willing to bring it to them. I want my kids to have choices of what to eat because there are endless possibilities out there, we just have to look to see.
Wait for it: I hope to share these recipes with a twist because I may not be able to get all the traditional ingredients that each recipe would require because I live in the United States, who says we can’t improvise? My promise is that the recipes I share will produce the same result as their traditional counterparts – finger-licking goodness. Stay with me to satisfy your desire of enjoying healthy Nigerian meals.

Coming to America

I migrated to live permanently in the United States tail end of 2008, December 25th, 2008 to be precise. In a 12-hour flight aboard Delta airline, I departed the motherland. It was a journey characterized with mix feelings. On the one hand, I was happy to be heading to the land of the free where anything is literally possible, the USA. And on the other hand, I was leaving behind my family I have known all my life; my mother, and siblings.
Faith is having hope in things unseen, and when you walk with faith everything is possible. Armed with faith, I landed in America with an immigrant visa to begin a whole new life. I do love living in America; it has been a blessing, and I will continue to be grateful. It is indeed a dream come through for me on so many levels.

Food isn’t all I do;
I am a productivity ninja☺
Two years ago, particularly in 2015, I started what I would like to refer to as my productivity awakening. Because I had plateaued; I was not where I wanted to be, and I got tired of always trying, and I stopped. I said to myself, “no more trying.” I decided to be content with my inadequacy, worst still I decided to be content to the “inadequacies of not wanting to try anymore.” My life was practically on a hamster will at this point; wake up, turn on the television, get my kid ready for school and send him off to school. Watching favorite shows was my watchword until my awakening, which activated me up. No joke!
Though I was happy to do my bit as a mom and wife, I had this feeling of un-accomplishment that wouldn’t leave. I wanted to get more out of life; I want to impact lives, write and rewrite stories. I can feel that I am a storyteller that can inspire people to use their wings! Then I summoned the courage and went for it. I took my life back!
From then on productivity became my watchword, with intense focus, consistency, and discipline, I started working on my priority larger than life goals one at a time. Within one year I wrote and published two books that made Amazon bestselling list. And at this point, my wish and desire are to see my friends go from start to finish. I firmly believe that dreams are not just mere fantasies, they are achievable. You’re your dream. And at just Positude dot com; I help multitasking high achievers and leaders like you become focused action takers. I want to see you accomplish your goals, have more free time and be happy.
One more thing,
you are now part of my family!
I love my family because they are everything to me, but you are now part of my extended family.
With all my heart, I would love to say: welcome to the family!
