Why must you choose the right exercise?

Here’s the deal: your exercise has to be tailor-made to suit you and you only. In other words, when it comes to physical activity, you must โ€œchoose your battle.” Thisย simply means you have to choose the right exercise for yourself because exercise isnโ€™t one size fit all. It is good to know that our bodies work differently and the type of physical activity that works for you may not necessarily work for me and vice versa.

Real fact about the rough path:

The fact remains that you and I need an exercise regime that will serve us well in the long run. And it is okay not to be on the same bandwagon with everyone else. From time to time you can improve or slightly amp up your regime while still tailoring it to yourself.
When I first started taking my fitness journey serious, I jumped on the bandwagon of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, and after three days worth of HIIT, I needed three weeks to recover. My legs, back,ย and bones were sore. Then, Iย choose my battle.

Do what you love.

Considering the fact I personally love walking better than any other form of fitness, I quickly incorporated daily walks into my routine. From walking whenever I can to intentionally walking five times a week and for at least 45 minutes each walk sessions. Almost, nine months in and I am glad for my result and grateful that I am still going strong.

I love taking walks in this beautiful park.

Consistency and not Intensity gives the result.

One of the most real truths that some โ€œhealth expertโ€ may not tell you is that consistency, not intensity is what will give you the much-awaited result; I mean high intensity could produce a great result if you are consistent with it. A high-intensity workout that happens once a week will never produce a better result than a low-intensity workout of up 45 minutes 5 days a week. Choose your battle and make up your mind for good. Whatever you choose, consistency is key.

In the words of Bruce Lee:

โ€œI fear not the man who has practiced 10, 000 kicks once, I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.โ€
