Air Fryer Potatoes and Sausage Ingredients:

Air Fryer Potatoes and Sausage main Ingredients include Potatoes, Carrots, Broccoli. and Raw Mild Italian Sausage links (you can use fully cooked sausage. If using fully cooked sausage add it towards the end)

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER POTATOES, SAUSAGE, CARROTS AND BROCCOLI MEAL (STEP-BY-STEP)

STEP ONE: Wash/Cut all the vegetables, and cut the Sausage. I typically cut the potatoes to 1 – 2-inch size; equally, I prefer them to be in cubes. As for the carrots, first, I peel them. Second, I slice off the roots and the tips. Then I cut them in chunks, about 2-inch sizes; I don’t want them too small or too big. Finally, I cut the broccoli by simply separating the thick, tough stem from the edible florets. I only cut a floret into halve if it is too big!

Place the sausage on a cutting board (and ON a stable surface); use kitchen scissors to cut off the sausage casing (this won’t be necessary if you use a fully cooked sausage). Then use a knife and slice/cut into 1-inch sizes. You can obviously cut them smaller (or bigger) as you wish.

Step one: Wash/Cut all the vegetables, and cut the Sausage.

STEP TWO: Add the potatoes and carrots into a big bowl, and sprinkle the seasonings except for the salt and date syrup. Sprinkle one tablespoon of avocado oil and combine. Taste, and then add a little salt according to your preference. Remember always to add salt last if some of your seasonings contain sodium.

STEP TWO: Add the potatoes and carrots into a big bowl, and sprinkle the seasonings except for the salt and date syrup. Sprinkle one tablespoon of avocado oil and combine.

STEP THREE: Preheat the air fryer to 350, add the seasoned potatoes and carrots into the air fryer basket. Use a spoon or spatula to gently drop the cut sausages into the air fryer basket as well. Then air fry for 15 minutes; remember to flip or turn midway.

STEP FOUR: While the potatoes, carrots, and sausage are cooking in the air fryer, season the broccoli. Sprinkle a dash of salt, black pepper, cajun seasoning, dry thyme, date syrup, and a teaspoon of avocado oil. Mix well, and set aside.

STEP FIVE: After 15 minutes, add the seasoned broccoli ensure to distribute it evenly. Spray a little avocado oil spray if needed. Then, air fry for 8 more minutes. Turn or shake halfway, as well as taste/adjust flavors.

RECIPE NOTES:

  • I used raw sausage for this recipe; you can use fully cooked sausage. However, instead of adding them from the beginning, you will add them towards the end.
  • You do not have to remove the sausage’s casings. However, it is my personal preference.
  • Another tip for cutting a raw sausage without falling apart is putting the links in the freezer for 10 – 15 minutes, then removing the casings and cutting. Obviously, the freezer helps them stay firmly, so they do not fall apart.
  • This recipe is best enjoyed warm and on the same day; I wouldn’t encourage making it days ahead because they will lack the crispness and shine, which doesn’t matter, honestly!🤷🏾‍♀️
  • Do not cook more than 8 minutes after adding broccoli.
  • You will notice that I peeled my potatoes; however, you do not have to, especially when using organic potatoes. Equally, they take no time to peel! On the other, my family likes peeled potatoes.
  • About Date Syrup, you can easily swap it with maple syrup if you don’t have Date Syrup or perhaps can’t find it. Nevertheless, I prefer Date Syrup because it is thicker, darker, and caramel-like. It enhances the taste of broccoli and adds a little touch of color. I am sure you can also enjoy this recipe without Date syrup.
  • Also, I love LOVE my air fryer!

TIPS/SUBSTITUTIONS FOR MAKING THE BEST AIR FRYER SAUSAGE AND POTATOES:

  • If using raw sausage as I did, ensure to cook it fully; best to add it alongside the potatoes first. If you are not sure that it is fully cooked, use a meat thermometer. NEVER CONSUME RAW OR UNDER COOKED SAUSAGE. On the other hand, you can use a fully cooked sausage and add it when you add the broccoli or towards the end (about 8 – 7 minutes to the end of your cooking)
  • Although I used potatoes, carrots, and broccoli, you can easily use any other vegetables. Use the veggies you and your family will enjoy for these air fryer potatoes, sausage, carrots, and broccoli meal!
  • Additionally, you can make this recipe vegan by using a meatless/vegan sausage.
  • This recipe is best enjoyed warm and on the same day!
  • Season the vegetables very well. While considering the saltiness of the sausage, it is still essential to season the vegetables well!
  • Serve with some sauce – ketchup, romesco, or this oil-free pumpkin seed sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium – big potatoes (about 3 cups, peeled and cut in 1-inch sizes)
  • 2 medium – large Carrots
  • 1 small head of broccoli (or about 2 cups)
  • 2 (raw) mild Italian sausage links  (you can use fully cooked sausage. If using fully cooked sausage add it towards the end)
  • 2 tablespoons Avocado oil (or less; I used about a tablespoon and half)
  • 2 teaspoons – 1 tablespoon date syrup
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dry thyme
  • ½ teaspoon Maggi (or Knorr seasoning)
  • ½ All-natural Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black Pepper.
  • Plus a dash of pepper, salt, cajun seasoning, and dry thyme for seasoning the broccoli.

Instructions

  1. STEP ONE: Wash/Cut all the vegetables, and cut the Sausage. I typically cut the potatoes to 1 – 2-inch size; equally, I prefer them to be in cubes. As for the carrots, first, I peel them. Notes

This recipe served two adults and two children. If you are serving 4 adults, then increase to at least 3 sausage links as well as add more potatoes, carrots, and broccoli.

I used raw sausage for this recipe; you can use fully cooked sausage. However, instead of adding them from the beginning, you will add them towards the end around 8-7 minutes to the end.

Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the sausage is fully cooked if using raw sausage like I did.  NEVER CONSUME RAW SAUSAGE.

Another tip for cutting a raw sausage without falling apart is putting the links in the freezer for 10 – 15 minutes, then removing the casings and cutting. Obviously, the freezer helps them stay firmly, so they do not fall apart.

This recipe is best enjoyed warm and on the same day; I wouldn’t encourage making days ahead because they will lack the crispness and shine, (which doesn’t matter, honestly)!

You will notice that I peeled my potatoes; however, you do not have to, especially when using organic potatoes. Equally, they take no time to peel! On the other, my family likes peeled potatoes.

This is my Air Fryer; it is truly one of favorite kitchen gadgets!
